5. Rockin’ Angels Blues Café, Phuket Town
This blues bar in the heart of Phuket Town will leave you feeling anything but blue. Exposed brick walls and neon signs make it feel more like Southern USA than Southern Thailand. Music memorabilia covers the walls, a true shrine to live music.
There’s a house band, led by the owner and former professional musician. Live blues music sessions usually starts around 9 p.m. and finish at midnight, so head on down here if you feel like tapping along to some of the best live music in town. 6. Jaguar Ice Bar, Patong
Cool off in the heart of Phuket’s biggest party town at the Jaguar Ice Bar in Patong. It can get super hot in Phuket, even in the evening, so what better way to escape the heat than a shot or two at -30 degrees.
The bar itself is made of ice and frozen shot glasses keep your drinks cool. This is probably the only place in Phuket where you’ll need to wear a jacket.
7. Baba Nest, Panwa
Baba Nest at the secluded Panwa beach on the quiet east coast of Phuket proves that rooftop bars are not only found in Bangkok. Taking advantage of a rocky outcrop overlooking the Andaman Sea, Baba Nest may not have cityscape views, but looking out at the limestone rocks on the horizon is a pretty cool substitute for sleek skyscrapers.
